Come learn about Prairie Dogs and population management on the front range!
The CU Center for Sustainable Landscapes and Communities (CSLC) is hosting this event for all residents in Boulder County as we experience exceptionally robust prairie dog population levels. Professionals with expertise in soil health, agricultural production and economics, the niche of prairie dogs in functioning ecosystems, and how humans live with and make decisions regarding public lands management will present their perspectives.
Prairie dog advocates, farmers and ranchers, conservationists, and neighbors adjacent to public lands will all voice their views and engage in discussions about a pressing question in our community:
What should we do to conserve prairie dog populations, while sustaining agricultural productivity and open space lands, and addressing impacts on neighboring residents?
The program begins at 5:30pm and includes a panel and discussions to promote informed community deliberation regarding these complex challenges.
